Bindi Sue Irwin - daughter of the Australian legend Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter).

Coming from down under has consequences, you just have to go upside down. When I was up in a proper antipodean position I heard a long whistle like the one that policemen use. May be it was a coincidence but just in case I quickly jumped down to promptly disappear amongst the Roman ruins. :-)

Easter egg :-)

Sounds of early morning in Abel Tasman National Park, South Island, New Zealand.
Insects chirring, birds twittering, flies flying, sheep awakening.
59 seconds before the crack of dawn.

I made that banner for my blog - a plane flying over clouds and a mountain in the background. It’s a collage of two photos. The photo of the plane was taken in Makarora, South Island, New Zealand when I was on Christmas holidays in Dec 2006 - Jan 2007. There is a small airfield in Makarora. I took some photos and a video of gliders launched from the airfield.
The photo of the snowy peak mountain was taken from Mt Ruapehu in Jan 2008. The snowy peak is Mt Taranaki (Egmont) which is about 130km away from Mt Ruapehu. The sky was so clear that Mt Taranaki was clearly visible with a naked eye.

A sudden hail outbreak ended in 10 minutes. Queen Street, Auckland, New Zealand.
Wudalianchi is a small town in north China, Heilongjiang province. Wudalianchi is famous for its volcanoes and mineral water springs. You can see some lava rocks along the main road that runs through the town, the lava looks similar to New Zealand volcanic rocks. In that respect Wudalianchi reminded me New Zealand. The mineral water is not thermal, it’s cold, it tastes nice and is considered to be good for your health when you drink it. I liked the mineral water, good stuff.
I am riding a rickshaw in the photo above, these motorised guys were very cheap, like one nz dollar for a few km of travel. I have to say, drivers are very careful in China, the traffic looks chaotic but I didn’t see any accidents at all.
