Flying Over Clouds in New Zealand

I made that banner for my blog – a plane flying over clouds and a mountain in the background. It’s a collage of two photos. The photo of the plane was taken in Makarora, South Island, New Zealand when I was on Christmas holidays in Dec 2006 – Jan 2007. There is a small airfield in Makarora. I took some photos and a video of gliders launched from the airfield.
The photo of the snowy peak mountain was taken from Mt Ruapehu in Jan 2008. The snowy peak is Mt Taranaki (Egmont) which is about 130km away from Mt Ruapehu. The sky was so clear that Mt Taranaki was clearly visible with a naked eye.
