Wudalianchi, China
April 6th, 2009 23:00Wudalianchi is a small town in north China, Heilongjiang province. Wudalianchi is famous for its volcanoes and mineral water springs. You can see some lava rocks along the main road that runs through the town, the lava looks similar to New Zealand volcanic rocks. In that respect Wudalianchi reminded me New Zealand. The mineral water is not thermal, it’s cold, it tastes nice and is considered to be good for your health when you drink it. I liked the mineral water, good stuff.
I am riding a rickshaw in the photo above, these motorised guys were very cheap, like one nz dollar for a few km of travel. I have to say, drivers are very careful in China, the traffic looks chaotic but I didn’t see any accidents at all.
